Egypt
Global Perspective, Local Expertise.™
Egypt is a transcontinental Afro-Asiatic country spanning the northeast corner of Africa and southwest corner of Asia. The land bridge is formed by the Sinai Peninsula. Most of Egypt’s territory of 1,010,000 sq. km. (390,000 sq. mi.) lies within the Nile Valley of North Africa. But Egypt is also a Mediterranean country, represented by its city of Alexandria on the Mediterranean Sea. Egypt has a population of over 86 million, making it the 3rd-largest African country, and the 15th-most populous nation in the world.
Egypt is divided into 27 muhāfazāt (governorates).
